We collectively put our heads together for this one, deciding we wanted another beer to take our minds off the miserable winter weather. What we came up with is super tasty, yet sessionable wheat beer, containing a massive dose of Apricot in the FV (a ton in 5000Litres). The beer is decidedly tart with the sweetness of the Apricot fermenting out to leave a fruity, sour edge to the classic Hefeweizen yeast flavour. The name? – “Aprication 1. The act of apricating, or basking in the sun”
Aprication will be available from the Taproom as of Tuesday 14th February, this is a KEG ONLY release…
Aprication 5.4% – Apricot Wheat
A naturally cloudy ‘session style’ Apricot wheat beer to celebrate longer days and the return of the sun. Golden Promise, wheat and acidulated malt were used in the mash along with Citra T90 hops in whirlpool to create a smoothly fruity base. Fermented with a classic German Hefeweizen yeast (WLP300) along with 1000Kg of fresh Apricot to deliver flavours of banana and clove with a nectarous, tart finish.
Malt: Acidulated, Golden Promise and Wheat
Hops: Citra T90
