We have an experimental IPA out this week designed to showcase two new hops from Hopsteiner. Demonali is an old school west coast IPA using ‘Denali’ and ‘Lemon Drop’ hops in whirlpool and dry hop.
We used a fairly straight-forward malt bill, using primarily Golden Promise along with some Wheat and Oat Malts. The beer was then fermented with our house WLP001 west coast ale yeast resulting in a super easy-drinking beer with a subtle hop character and minimal interference from the yeast flavour.
Denali sometimes known as ‘Nuggetzilla’ features delicate flavours of pineapple, citrus and pine with a slightly spicy note, more info here https://hopsteiner.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/2016-04_TS_Denali.pdf
Lemon Drop has been called a ‘super Cascade’ and has an herbal/citrus character featuring (you guessed it) lemon. More info here https://hopsteiner.com/variety-data-sheets/Lemondrop/
It’s a West Coast style IPA in the ‘moreishly drinkable rather than sensory assault’ category, which we hope you’ll find a refreshing change.
The beer will be launched in our Tap Room today (Friday 17th March) from 1pm on draught and for growler pours. It’ll be available for wholesale customers from the usual stockists the following week.

The beer has a delicate floral/citrus aroma reminiscent of Pineapple, Melon, Black Pepper and Pine. The flavour has more subtle Pineapple with a hint of spice, paired with a low level of bitterness for a refreshingly moreish finish’
