Forgotten narratives of extraordinary women. Featuring newly commissioned writing from Jane Kite, Sarah Hussain and Helen Shay.
To celebrate International Women’s Day 2018, three writers present their take on the lives of Yorkshire’s women, inspired by the mills, pits and stately homes of our county’s heritage.
Also featured are photographs and anecdotes from our exploration of Yorkshire’s heritage, researched and collated with the help of Dr. Ruth Mather, University of Exeter.

In the self-same room where Simon Armitage once worked as a supermarket shelf-stacker – now the basement of Huddersfield’s very own Vinyl Tap – the poet launches the paperback edition of his latest book of poems, as well as musing on his various flirtations with the world of rock and pop music.
Then follow us along the street to Huddersfield’s very own Magic Rock Tap for drink-sinking and disc-spinning, joined by 6 Music DJ, author and broadcaster Stuart Maconie.
